Tricia Whipple is the founder and genetic genealogist at Lotus Genealogy Solutions, specialising in comprehensive genealogical research. She has been passionate about helping people trace their family histories for almost 30 years, conducting in-depth research to help clients connect with their ancestral roots. Her expertise blends traditional genealogical methods with genetic genealogy, using DNA matches and databases since 2017 to uncover family connections and solve complex lineage puzzles.
More recently Tricia has begun to volunteer with the Cold Case Coalition (Utah) which is a non-profit that helps families, communities and law enforcement with unresolved deaths or disappearances, cold cases, and historical mass including the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921
Originally from California, USA Tricia grew up in Australia and New Zealand and is now based in Brisbane, Australia, Tricia’s paternal ancestry traces back to North America, Germany, and Eastern Europe, while her maternal roots are linked to New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Great Britain. Her previous background in social services, research, and counselling helps brings a deep sensitivity, empathy and awareness to her work that emphasise the importance of understanding one’s origins.
She has a great deal of experience researching USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, pre and post-war Germany, Slovenia, Austria lineages.
Tricia is committed to ongoing education in family history and genetic genealogy and is an active participant in several online study groups and family research and surname communities which helps to refine and improve her skills. She is client-focused, empathetic, creative and communicates with care and sensitivity. These qualities enhance her ability to connect with clients and understand their unique needs in family history research.

Tricia has also researched her own Irish convict ancestor who was transported to Tasmania during the Irish Famine, uncovering ancestral connections and historical records from this period.
