Tina's interest in genealogy began as a youngster. A novice genealogist in 1998, she began her family research. Tina interviewed older relatives, visited the National Archives, Albany County Hall of Records and Family History Center reviewing microfilm and discovering her grandparents' original Naturalization Papers. Her husband's family has deep roots in the U.S. Tina successfully researched his lineage resulting in his Sons of the American Revolution society membership. Tina enjoys learning and applying what she's learns to her research.  Part of her education includes:
  • ProGen 56
  • Genealogical Institute on Federal Records (Gen-Fed 2023)
  • Institute of Genealogy and Histprical Research (I.G.H.R. )
  • Genealogy Institute of Pittsburgh (G.R.I.P.)
  • NYG&B NY Family History Conferences
Tina frequents the NYS Library and NYS Archives. Tina often visits town halls, courthouses, historical societies, libraries, archives or other repositories seeking 18th and 19th century deeds, probate and vital records. Tina believes nothing compares to reading an original 18th century document.  Tina is a volunteer genealogist at the NYS Library for the Capital District Genealogical Society, and their past Program Co-Chair (2019-2021) and the 2021 virtual Conference Co-Chair. Learn more at The Ancestor In Your Life.
