I am offering genealogical research in Germany (especially in the States of Bavaria and Saxony), in former Prussian provinces (like Silesia, Posen and West Prussia) in today's Poland and in former German speaking areas in today's Czech Republic (i.e. in Bohemia, Moravia and Austrian Silesia). Additionally I am offering transcription and English translation of church book entries or other documents written in Old German script (Kurrent, Sütterlin). I am member of the "Association of German-Speaking Professional Genealogists" and of the "Society for Family Research in Franconia", and I am working as professional researcher since 2010.

Since the year 1979 I was doing research for my own ancestors mainly from Bavaria and Silesia (today in Poland); I have excellent knowledge of genealogical sources in Bavaria, Saxony and other German regions, in Silesia and other former Prussian provinces in the east, as well as in Bohemia, Moravia and Austrian Silesia. This includes research in church books and other documents in central church archives, in local parish archives, in Federal Archives, in State Archives and in municipal archives.

Often the records are reaching back to the Thirty Year's War (mid of the 1600's), Lutheran records are sometimes starting in the 1500's. Especially in the north of Bavaria a lot of records are reaching back to the time around the year 1400. In contrast the research in Silesia and other former provinces in the east (today in Poland) is suffering from the massive losses and demolition at the end of WW II (esp. the Lutheran parish records).

Besides genealogy I was working on other historical subjects and published two sources from the Late Middle Ages (the oldest property descriptions of the district of Bayreuth in Bavaria from the time around 1400) and some essays about history in Upper Franconia (in the north of Bavaria). I was holding also workshops about reading the Old German scripts. Since 1980 I am member of the "Historical Society of Upper Franconia".

I did my Diploma and my PhD in the field of chemistry in the 1990's.

Germany, former Prussian territories in today's Poland, former German speaking areas in today's Czech Republic

Since 1980's several essays about Upperfranconian history, in 1992 and 1998 publication of two sources from Late Middle Ages about the oldest property descriptions of the district of Bayreuth, dated 1398 resp. 1421/1424.

Lectures had been hold since 1990's about historical issues (e.g., settlement in Upper Franconia, first naming of villages in 1398 etc.). Workshops about reading of old German scripts from 14th to 19th century.
