I have been doing traditional family research on my own family for more than 30 years as a hobby and discovered previously unknown connections to the Mayflower and over 8 Revolutionary War Patriots. By testing at the major DNA testing companies and using genetic genealogy sites and tools such as WikiTree and GEDmatch, I am solving brick walls for ancestors born between 1700 and 1830. I administer two DNA projects focused on identifying the descendants of a particular ancestor using a combination of Y and autosomal DNA to confirm traditional genealogy. These are the 'Montgomery of Scotland' Founder Project for Haplogroup J-Z35794 identifying descendants of Robert Montgomery 1125, founder of Clan Montgomery in Scotland and the Hugh Coffey born 1700 Project. I tutor, lecture and teach to help others break down their brick walls with the help of DNA.
