Sylvia Hasenkopf, the principal researcher for North River Historic Research, is a genealogical researcher and historian for over 25 years. She developed and hosts the wildly successful website Tracing your Roots in Greene County, which allows individuals to use a wide variety of original documents online, at no charge. Sylvia has a broad range of genealogical experience from the early Dutch roots to the present day, in Greene, Ulster, Columbia, Dutchess, Delaware, Schoharie, Rensselaer, Montgomery, Washington, Fulton and Albany counties as well as the New England states.  She has undertaken intensive research in the Palatine, Colonial, and Revolutionary eras. Drawing upon her extensive personal library of published and unpublished material, Sylvia has assisted many individuals in completing their DAR, SAR and Mayflower applications. In addition, Sylvia has developed an expertise in developing house histories, drawing upon the wealth of information available in local historical and state repositories. Sylvia is frequently called upon to lend her expertise and knowledge of local history to assist professionals in the media, who are developing historical documentaries of the local area.
