I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor in History with a focus on Indigenous and Canadian history. After graduating, I took my newly found spare time to research my family history which took me across Canada United States, Europe (both Western and Eastern) and, in 2010, I founded Family Connect Genealogical Services.

I am an ongoing student of the International Institute of Genealogical Studies at the University of Toronto and have completed course work in researching Canadian, American, English, German, Eastern European, Ukrainian, Polish, DNA, Scottish, Irish, and United Empire Loyalist Ancestors.

Canada wide (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland
United States wide but especially Massachusetts, Delaware, and Pennsylvania
Germany, Ukraine, Poland, England, Scotland, Norway, and Ireland

Ms. Tomiak has many certifications and affiliations to reference and has a wealth of information at her fingertips. She saved me many hours of research and to be honest I did not even know where to begin my search for my family history. Ms. Tomiak not only guided me to valuable resources but also provided insights to the culture and what life was like for my ancestors. She made a dry subject real to me. K. Wile, Edmonton Alberta, Canada

Sherri used her knowledge and wisdom to search and locate the records that I was seeking for my Treaty Application.  E. Callan, Fort MacMurray, AB
