I have been interested in genealogy since around 1974, when my grandmother told me that my second great grandfather had emigrated from England. I didn't get into the meat of research until the mid 1980s, when I started learning how to use microfilm and fiche, and to record my sources for my research.

Fast forward to the age of DNA - I discovered that my dad who raised me was not my father! I was 58 at the time of that discovery, and while it was a little shocking, took absolutely nothing away from my childhood, my parents, or who I am as a person.

I was born in Vallejo, California, and grew up in Albany, California, attending Albany schools. I have a B.S. from UC Berkeley. In 1983 I joined the UC Berkeley Police Department, and worked there before transferring in 1994 to the City of Berkeley Police Department. I feel my investigative skills in my job have helped my genealogical research skills.

Currently I am married, retired, and the "mom" to two German Shepherd Dogs.

I still research my own families, but really enjoy other people's research, especially when I have hit one of those infamous brick walls in my own research!
