Examples of Intestate Successes:
1. The claimant was Sam’s paternal first cousin and the sole claimant to the decedent’s estate. However, because he and the decedent had different surnames, the claimant and his attorney could not prove that he and Sam were related. Result: Our research team was able to clearly establish that the claimant’s father and Sam’s father were brothers, and that the claimant was the sole beneficiary of Sam’s estate.
2. When Dorothy died in 1984, she died without a will. For the next 30 years many genealogists attempted to find the heirs to her estate and all failed to do so until we undertook the challenge. Result: Our research team found the maternal and paternal claimants to Dorothy’s estate and successfully proved their claims.
3. After Raymond died, Claire, his maternal first cousin, retained an attorney to put forth her claim to Raymond’s estate. The attorney then retained a genealogist in Arizona, who failed to prove that Raymond’s mother and Clair’s mother were sisters. Many years later, we discovered that the estate was unclaimed and so we undertook to find its heirs. Result: Not only did we prove that Claire was Raymond’s first cousin, we also found Raymond’s paternal first cousins in Ireland.
