Rachel M. Croucher is a highly credentialled genealogist and record agent with nearly 20 years of experience in the practice of history. As a genealogist, she specialises in managing research projects to compile family histories and genealogies for clients. In contrast, as a record agent, she has extensive experience in researching specific records and the holdings of specific archives. She is currently vice president of the Australasian Association of Genealogists and Record Agents (AAGRA) and a member of the Genealogical Ethics and Standards Advisory Group at the Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG).

Rachel is also studying for a postgraduate degree in law at Macquarie University and aims to be admitted as a legal practitioner by 2026. Her interests include succession law (in particular probate genealogy), family law, family violence advocacy, peace advocacy, and the power of restorative justice to repair the harm caused by crime and wrongdoing.

After finishing high school at Bairnsdale Secondary College in the Victorian region of East Gippsland, Rachel spent one year studying at Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium in Mettmann, Germany, on the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in German and European Studies at the University of Melbourne, during which time she spent two semesters at the University of Vilnius in Lithuania. Since then, Rachel has completed a Master of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Monash University?s Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation and a Diploma of Family History at the University of Tasmania. She is currently studying a Juris Doctor at RMIT University.
