I started doing genealogy and family history research in 1991.  My great aunt gave my parents and I some information about my ancestors.  After reading through what she gave us, I verified what information was true and what was not.  I fell in love with researching my ancestors.  I love researching people, buildings, houses and towns.  My favorite research sources are newspapers, obituaries, and society pages.

I have completed a Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical, Palaeographic (British spelling) & Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde at Glasgow, Scotland.

The Postgraduate Certificate covered

I have experience researching records from the United States, Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, and Ireland. I know how to use the genealogical databases. Have you hit a brick wall in your searching? Has your great aunt given you your great great grandmother's diaries and photos? Do you want to preserve your family history? I can help.

I charge $35 per hour.  I usually start with 4 hours of research and writing for each new project.  After 4 hours, I send the client an update of what I have found so far and where I see the project is going.  If you would like to discuss the possibility of a project, then please email me at tracingthedots@gmail.com. What details do you already know about this ancestor?
