I first became interested in family history as a teenager in the 1970's when my father decided to investigate his Irish roots.  After he passed away in 1990, I inherited his old, stained manila folder of research notes and have been a genealogist ever since!  Volunteering at the National Archives in Pittsfield, Massachusetts gave me opportunities to educate patrons with lectures and workshops, and also to do research for private clients.  I still volunteer today at 4 different venues around Albany, New York and offer a variety of workshops on genealogy topics for libraries, societies, organizations and senior centers.

My specialty and first love is Irish Family History.  After tracing my own ancestors to County Laois and County Clare, I have had the privilege of discovering the Irish origins of over 100 other families.  I am the "Genealogist-in-Residence" for the Irish American Heritage Museum in Albany, New York, and have contributed research to genealogy television programs.  I've been to Ireland 7 times and love sharing my experience and expertise with those who want to discover their Irish roots!

Lisa kept in contact with me and kept me advised concerning what she was doing as well as what information she had gathered. She also gave me a few ideas which I will use to review the research work I have done on my own. Hopefully this will lead to new clues I can use to further my research. Highly recommend her as she is very considerate and you can tell she really enjoys what she is doing." -Beverly O., Pittsburg, KS "Lisa does excellent work and we would recommend her without reservations. Not only does she display a thorough knowledge of research material but she also possesses a passion for her work, doggedness, and wonderful intuitions or as she says "hunches". I honestly did not believe that anyone would be able to tease my grandfather's beginings from our thin patchwork of family stories. Lisa has given us a foundation and a recorded name and in so doing, has woven herself into our family tree. We can not thank her enough!" Maryann S., Akron, OH "Lisa did a terrific job of digging up new information about my family. While we did not get what we most wanted, we got a lot of good information and really appreciate her service!" Michael R., Mulberry, FL "Lisa provides an exceptional, professional work-product. I could not be more pleased with the outcome." Elizabeth R., San Diego, CA
