Lisa Parry Arnold was raised as a Quaker in the Philadelphia area with almost all ancestral lines tracing back to the early Quakers. Her specialty is Quaker research but she is highly qualified to do all US research. Her book, “Thee & Me: A Beginner’s Guide to Early Quaker Records” (available on Amazon) has been very popular with Quaker researchers since its first publication in 2014.  (Available on Amazon).

Lisa worked for Ancestry.com for many years, first as Senior Content Strategist on the Global Content Acquisition Team, then as a Professional Genealogist at AncestryProGenealogists. She was the expert genealogist regarding Native American, African American and church records for Ancestry.

She provided research for TV shows such as “Who Do You Think You Are”, “The Today Show” and “Good Morning America”.

Lisa is currently an Adjunct Professor for BYU-Idaho, teaching advanced classes in the field of family history research.

Lisa enjoys making presentations about Family History research at local genealogical societies, the DAR, and at genealogy conferences and institutes, such as SLIG, GRIP, NIGR, and IGHR. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University (’06) in History/Family History and is currently working on completing a master’s degree, also in history.

Lisa is taking clients and is qualified to research nearly all areas of the United States. She is happy to discuss your particular interest in any area - especially if it involves the early Quakers!

Testimonials on Amazon.com: Thee & Me: A Beginner's Guide to Early Quaker Records
Finally! A comprehensive book on Quaker research. If you're a new or a seasoned researcher, this is a must have for anyone working on their Quaker lines. The author provides an in depth background on Quaker customs and how it impacts the records we research today. Tricky topics like Quaker dates, meeting structure and record types are all skillfully explained. She also provides valuable insights into Quaker record depositories along with several online sources. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the original Quakers or their family history. I have been discovering I have some Quaker roots in my family tree and wanted a guide to help me decipher what I was seeing on Ancestry.com. This book was perfect!! Easy to read and very informative! Good historical information, links to supporting websites and the case study which leads you through a family, is invaluable! Good charts and pictures to help you as well. Thank you for a great book!! I now am excited (rather than overwhelmed) and can go back to digging for family roots armed with perspective! This book is very helpful to the beginner or experienced family historian who wants to navigate Quaker records. It contains what you need to know in one resource. It is easy to understand and well written. I highly recommend this book!
