• Family History Research

Kathryne’s passion for genealogical research began in college when she started her search for answers about her Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. As she pursued a degree in English Education, her love of writing, research and solving difficult puzzles led her to freelance genealogy work. She worked as an independent genealogist beginning in 2011, primarily helping Jewish clients find answers about their family member’s experiences in the Holocaust. She joined Legacy Tree Genealogists in 2021 and works with clients all over the globe to answer questions about their families from the Russian Empire.

Education and Training

Kathryne has a degree in English Education, with a minor in Russian Language and has worked as a Russian Translator for the University of Oklahoma’s Bizzell Memorial Library. She has over 10 years of experience working on Eastern European, Jewish and Holocaust research projects.

Kathryne’s specialties include Ashkenazi Jewish Research in Eastern Europe including both the Russian Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire, Immigration, and Holocaust and Displaced Persons Research. Her favorite research opportunities include researching a family that fled the Russian Empire at the time of the Russian Revolution through China and to Australia.
