Services

I undertake genealogical research for both private family history clients and professional researchers. Projects include family trees, bespoke research and problem solving. My family tree packages can be researched for families from anywhere in England and Wales. Where visits to local archives are required I specialise in the counties of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex. I specialise in genetic genealogy, offering advice on the interpretation of DNA test results and using DNA to find birth relatives.

 

Tutoring & Lecturing

I am the Owner and Managing Director for the UK-based online course provider, Pharos Teaching and Tutoring (www.pharostutors.com). Pharos Tutors provides short courses and certificate programs in family history, local history and related topic in UK records.

 

Qualifications & Accreditations

I am passionate about genealogy research to the highest standard. I studied with the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS) in Canterbury and hold both the Higher Certificate and the Diploma in Genealogy. I also have a PG Cert (Educational Practice) from the University of Essex. Before this I trained and worked as a Pharmacist and hold a PhD in pharmaceutical research, developing research skills that have transferred well to genealogy. In addition to being a member of APG, I am also a full Member of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives).
