Emmaline MacBeath is a genetic genealogist and a children’s author under the pen name Emmaline Rose. She specializes in African-American genealogy and the use of DNA to identify unknown family. Connecting people to their family stories and to each other is what lights up her days.

Emmaline is a Project Leader at the free family tree website, WikiTree. She leads the African Ancestry, US Black Heritage, and Adoption Angels projects. She is working to widen the genealogy space to make it more accessible for everyone with African heritage. Her dream to create the largest free, public, online database of connected African-American family trees in existence became a reality in 2024 on WikiTree. She encourages everyone to build their trees at WikiTree to take advantage of the power of collaborative genealogy it offers.

Emmaline's services primarly include: African-American family tree building, finding birth parents using Ancestry DNA, using DNA to build family trees and solve family mysteries, family tree preservation on WikiTree, DNA consultations, virtual presentations, and genealogy coaching and tutoring. She especially likes to coach future genealgists in the field of African-American genealogy.

Privacy and sensitivty are important to Emmaline in all the work she does.

Emma went way above and beyond to help my husband Bryan find his connection to relatives on Ancestry which has brought some much needed closure to his life. Emma not only spent countless hours helping him figure out his paternal side which he never knew but also went the extra mile of finding his birth mother's father. Her gift is beyond amazing and her swiftness and efficiency to truly communicate with Bryan motivated him to reach out to a possible half sibling that he would have never even known about if Emma did not provide such specific details to him
