I am an experienced researcher specializing in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and migrations outward from those locations; I hold the credential of Certified Genealogist®. I serve as editor of the Rhode Island Genealogical Society's journal, Rhode Island Roots. The author of several books and articles, I am also available for speaking locally or remotely. I take clients occasionally, particularly for work 1700-1880, and I can readily go to the Rhode Island repositories. I have a degree in History from Wesleyan University, including experience there with Anglo-Saxon and Middle English, so I also enjoy deciphering and transcribing old New England handwriting as well as using the context of New England history to help with hard genealogical problems.
