I believe that every family has a hero story that deserves to be told. So, after more than thirty years as a television writer, producer, and researcher, I am bringing my visual and factual storytelling skills to genealogy. My goal is to uncover family stories, verify myths or legends, and go through mountains of unwritten research to transform the information into a fully-cited, genealogy report that is visually engaging and written in a conversational (rather than academic) tone that the whole family can enjoy.
My own genealogical journey started with a quest to know the towns of origin of my immigrant ancestors. This simple question unlocked stories of hidden identities, secret spouses, priests and gangsters, tragedies and triumphs, and everyday heroism. Every family has such stories. Let me help you discover and share yours or those of your clients.
Services
I offer research and writing services to professional and family genealogists that don't have the time or the desire to complete and/or write up their own research. I am happy to do the research and/or the writing independently, collaborate with clients, or coach clients through their own research and writing projects.
In addition, I currently work as Deputy Clerk in the Douglas County Clerk's Office (Roseburg, Oregon).
Geographic Specialties
The United States and to a certain degree, European immigrants to the United States; particularly those from the Russian partition of Poland and immigrants from anywhere that settled in Chicago. Also, pioneers to the Oregon Territory.
