Cheryl Montague-Nolting, President of Griffin Genealogical Services and Vice President for Nolting Ventures, LLC, graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film and received her Master’s degree in Drama with a specialization in Arts Administration and Directing from Texas Woman’s University.

Prior to starting a non-profit and medical financial consulting firm in 2013 with her husband, Kevin Nolting, she worked for over thirty years in the non-profit sector as an executive director and professional fundraiser.

Upon retiring from the nonprofit sector, Cheryl began to pursue a life-long interest in genealogy to understand the stories of her ancestors, and believes that by unlocking her past, she will gain a better understanding of herself.

Ms. Nolting is an Honorary Regent (four years as Regent) for the Balcones Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she also served as 2nd Vice Regent.  She has served on the University of North Texas Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Texas Woman’s University Alumni Association Board of Director, the Lewisville Community Theatre Board of Directors, and the Denton Community Theatre Advisory Board.  She is a member of multiple genealogical societies including the Jamestowne Society, General Society of Mayflower Descendants, National Genealogical Society, Ohio and Virginia Genealogical Societies, and the Texas State Genealogical Society.  She received her certificate in Genealogical Research in 2018 through Boston University Center for Professional Education.
