• Family History Research

Carol McKinven provides approachable professional Scottish genealogy research services and advice for those interested in their Scottish roots. She has been researching Scottish and English family history for 20 years, as well as internationally. In addition to this extensive experience, Carol holds a PhD from the University of St. Andrews for her research into bigamy in Victorian Scotland. She also holds a Masters in Genealogical Studies from the University of Strathclyde.

Based near Edinburgh, we have regular personal access to the Scotland’s People Centre and National Records of Scotland in Princes Street. Our location is also convenient for travel elsewhere in Scotland for research in other archives or for location research.
