Experience with migration patterns, family surnames, spelling and pronunciation variations. I have lived in various areas of Quebec and Ontario and know the villages where Indigenous people lived. Vast experience with researching fur trade, voyageurs, North American Indians, notary records and databases. Old French script / some Latin. Able to transcribe and translate old French records. I am physically located between Montreal archives and Ottawa archives and regularly conduct research there.
Over 40 yrs of experience with researching Native American ancestry & family trees.

I am part Cree, Illinois, and Huron-Abenaki with ancestry from Fur Trade Red River Manitoba and Fur Trade Great Lakes and Quebec families and have extensive knowledge of the various kinship networks and history of Indigenous people across North America.
I am also the Great Grand Niece of Cuthbert Grant Jr. -- first great Metis leader, known as Chief of the Halfbreeds, Warden of the Plains.
I have been an Indigenous registrar and am known in Native genealogical circles for being the hardest gatekeeper there is (as far as proof documents are concerned), and the person who can find the most difficult records out there. I'm also a historian and highly respected for my knowledge and the evidence I've gathered from archives over a lifetime. I've helped
communities prove who they are and I've helped find records for court cases for Indigenous persons. I've helped 60s scoop survivors find their biological families and I've helped other aboriginal adopted persons find their biological parents too. But mostly I've found and proven the Indian ancestors for hundreds of families.
