Mission

The Southeast Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists was organized in 2025 to provide networking and educational opportunities for those individuals who research in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Our Goals

  • To facilitate networking opportunities among genealogists with shared geographic research interests, creating meaningful professional connections
  • To foster a collaborative community that actively shares methodologies, resources, and knowledge across specializations and experience levels
  • To develop and maintain a directory of professionals available for on-site research and document retrieval at courthouses, archives, libraries, and genealogical societies
  • To provide ongoing professional development through presentations that enhance both business and genealogical research skills
  • To promote ethical standards and best practices for professional genealogical research and client relationships
  • To provide assistance to early-career genealogists

Meetings

Meetings are held quarterly on the third Thursday in January, April, July, and October. Non-members are welcome.  Meetings are held via Zoom, and participants can find the link in the monthly APG e-news or on the APG calendar.
