Grahame T. Smallwood Award of Merit

The Grahame T. Smallwood Award of Merit was established by APG in 1981 and was first awarded to its namesake, Grahame T. Smallwood Jr., an early leader of the Association. The award is generally presented annually to an APG member who has demonstrated long-term (five-year minimum) personal commitment and outstanding service to the Association.

About Grahame T. Smallwood, Jr. 

Grahame Thomas Smallwood, Jr. served as a member of the APG board from 1985 to 1987. There were sixteen lineage societies fortunate to have had him as their leader and friend. He was a respected researcher, author, and co-founder of several lineage societies. In recognition of his many years of voluntary service, the Sons of the American Revolution awarded him their Distinguished Service Medal. Additionally, he received the NGS Award of Merit in acknowledgment of his valuable contributions to the field.
