Australia and New Zealand Chapter
Chapter Information
The Australia and New Zealand chapter was reformed in September 2020 to provide members with a forum to exchange information and ideas among professional genealogists. We also promote and support the objectives of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
- To contact an Australian professional genealogist, please see the directory.
- To contact a New Zealand professional genealogist, please see the directory.
Membership
The Chapter has members from both Islands of New Zealand and every state in Australia except the Northern Territory. This makes virtual meetings challenging as there is a four-hour time difference between Western Australia and New Zealand with different time zones in between. Summer months are even more challenging with not every Australian state adopting daylight saving time.
Membership is open to anyone who is a current member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, maintains an interest in Australia and New Zealand genealogy, supports the APG Code of Ethics and subscribes to the Chapter’s Bylaws.
Meetings
The Chapter meets by Zoom on the 4th Thursday of the month. Even months the meeting time is 1pm AEST and odd months the meeting time is 7pm AEST. Meetings are recorded and available to members who cannot attend the Zoom meeting.
Chapter Management
Chapter Representative Sandra Hayward organises and convenes the regular meetings and oversees the membership of the Chapter.
