Web Site Policy
- The Association publishes and maintains a web site; a
listing in the web directory is a benefit of membership.
- The content of the web site will be consistent with the
objectives of the Association.
- The purposes of the web site are to generally increase
the visibility of APG, to recruit new members, and to facilitate
communication internally and externally.
- The Association will contract for the services of the
Webmaster, and for other design services as required.
- Content on the web site not already approved in a print
format will be reviewed by the Publications Advisory Committee.
- The Webmaster, when concerned with any issue about content,
will seek the guidance of the Publications Advisory Committee.
- Except for paid advertising, all material posted on the
web site shall be protected by copyright, and all rights
for reproduction shall be reserved for APG.
Each page on the web site will have a copyright statement.
- Except for items from the APG Quarterly, facsimiles of
APG publications or adaptations of APG publications may
be posted on the web site, for example, APG brochures, the
code of ethics, and the by-laws.
- Items from the APG Quarterly shall not be posted on the
web site, except for the index or items for which APG has
full rights.
- The APG web site also may include items not elsewhere
published by APG, such as the President's message, announcements
of APG sponsored events and APG publications, photographs,
and graphics to enhance the web site.
- The APG web site may include the capability for individuals
to join APG, to pay APG dues, and to purchase APG publications
or advertising space in APG publications.
- The APG web site may include the capability for members
to vote in APG elections, within the guidelines of the election
policies.
- Announcements of APG chapter events and publications
may be posted on the APG web site.
- The APG chapters may establish their own web sites.
An electronic version of the APG Directory will be posted
on the web site; e-mail and links to personal web sites are
provided.
- Paid advertising, clearly recognizable as such, and consistent
with the Policy on Advertising and Endorsing Products, may
be posted on the APG web site.
- Sponsorship of the APG web site shall be reserved for
APG.
- Interested parties shall be encouraged to establish links
to the APG web site.
- The only links available at the APG web site shall be
to personal home pages and e-mail addresses of: APG officers,
APG members, APG chapters, other national organizations
with goals compatible with those of APG, advertisers who
pay to have links at the APG web site and who have been
approved by the Publications Advisory Committee.
- The password for editing the web site shall be known
only to the Webmaster, the APG President, and one other
person designated by the President.
